Money (making) Apps
Our hobby can be expensive. Buying new rulebooks, buying new figures, etc. I use a variety of apps to help offset this cost. A lot of the apps I use are receipt scanning apps. We all buy things, we might as well get a little cash back on our purchases.
A lot of these will be referral links. If you sign up, I may or may not get a kickback. Which in turns allows me to buy new toys, and share them with you.
Fetch:
Share your code (KM3BQ) to get 4,000 points when friends snap their first receipt. (They’ll get 2,000 bonus points, too!)
This app lets you scan your receipts and will give you Coins that you can redeem for various gift cards. It is one of my go to reciept apps. It is also nice to have a list of things you bought, in case you need to return something in the future. Rewards can stack up quickly, or they can take forever.
Receipt Hog:
Receipt Hog pays you to upload receipts, take surveys, and more! Download and enter code spend484 to earn a special bonus when you upload your first receipt.
Receipt Hog is another app for scanning your receipts. This one is slower to earn by, you can only earn 200 coins a week, and you need 1000 coins for $5. Still every little bit helps.
ReceiptPal:
No referral bonus on this one. I’ve been using it for a few years. It also takes time to earn any “real” money. They changed the point structure a few years ago, so I’m not sure how much it takes for new users to get a gift card. I get about 500 points a week, and it takes me 7500 coins to get a $25 gift card.
CoinOut:
More receipt scanning, and no referral bonus on it. It appears you get about 50 coins per receipt, and I find the 9500 coin level to be just about right for me which gives a $10 Amazon Gift card.
Swagbucks:

This one has a bunch of different activities. I find the most “profitable” to be playing the games. I made about $50 playing Tetris. Some of the games are easier than others, and to reach the stated goals in the given time frame, you almost have to spend money. I don’t spend money on them, what would be the point. Gift cards are in various ways, but this one is almost exclusively for buying stuff I don’t need, but want off Ebay.
Bing:
Yes the search engine. Internet search really sucks these days, and Microsoft might still be the evil empire, but I find them less evil than Google, and the results are similar. It takes dedication to really earn points here, but you can redeem for various things like Amazon Gift Cards, Xbox Points, etc.

This one gives you cash back if you buy certain things in rotating waves. It also has an online shopping aspect to get cashback. I used this app religiously to pay off debt when we were trying to buy our first house. It was better back then, because I could get cash back and rewards point on my credit card to double dip. They stopped the double dipping, but it is still a decent app. I never let it influence my purchases, but if I’m going to buy toothpaste, I might as well check the app and see what brands they have offers for. So sometimes I let it influence my purchases.
